It's time to start thinking about sponsoring a turtle! Businesses and/or individuals can sponsor a turtle and possibly win valuable prizes. Even better, as promised last year, I will post your business on my world renowned blog! Even better yet, you help support Christian education at Bethany Christian School!!

Presidential Motorcade
The President's NEXT DOOR!
I don't have pictures, but you all should know by now what the president looks like! I have been to the White House (I don't know if Reagan was in at the time), but this is the closest any president has ever come to me!! That I know of at least. Obama is speaking today at Dobson High School which is right behind our house. We probably would have tried to get tickets to see him, but Jake had strep throat and Erik had a dentist appt the morning they gave away tickets. Actually, Jake had a dentist appt as well, but we had to cancel that.
The highschoolers don't get to see him - they get to watch on TV in the classrooms. Marta's son, Adam, goes there and says there were a lot of improvements being made in a short time for the visit. Who's Marta? Marta watched Jake before he started school, and now Adam babysits on occasion.

Erik's First Catch
Well, wouldn't it figure! Erik hauls in a good sized carp and we still don't have the camera back yet. I suppose I could have snapped a poor shot on the scratchy phone camera. Oh, well, Erik was happy to finally catch one.

Update Time
Camera has dust and lint in it so I took it in to get cleaned (my birthday present). I was scheduled to work on my birthday, but I took the night off to go out to eat with Karen and the boys and Gramma. I got to thinking that if I am now 47 - that means someone in the family turns 50 this year! How about that, Dave?! Woo-HOO! Oh, Jake and I went fishing on my birthday, also. We caught a few carp - some big fellas, too - at the local pond/lake. I have some pictures I have to dig out of the memory card. I'll post those when I get a chance.
It's a bit rainy over here. Not usually newsworthy, but it happens so seldom in our neck, it makes the news. Actually this is a big, slow moving storm that may last a few days before socking Denver.
Oh, and we have started up a game night now. Will have to get pictures soon. So far its been a few different games, and the boys seem to win more than the parents. I'm sure they would love me to share more details about all that!

Super Bowl
Congrats to the Steelers, and also to the Cardinals who played a LOT better than most figured they would. What a game! I think the Cardinals earned a little respect tonite.
Take away the piece of luck there at the end of the first half and I think the game would have taken on a totally different feel with the Cardinals going into the second half either tied or up by 4. Take away some of the numerous penalties and this might have been a blowout game - with the Cardinals winning. Oh, well, you can't take those things away, they're part of the game. You just have to deal with them and the Cards almost managed to do just that!
