Sunset Pan

The other day I had said the clouds made for a nice sunset. I stitched three shots together to make this. Hope you like it.

Another Storm

Had a lot rain this weekend and at work, this little cell came up and rolled roght on over with only a light sprinkle.

Here it comes. It looks a bit more ominous that it was.

After maybe 5 minutes or so it had already passed.

The remaining clouds made for a nice sunset later.

Optical Illusion - Traffic Cones

I have always wanted to do something like this. You know those e-mails where you scroll down and see the next thing and finally the last one is amazing or funny or whatever. (if you do copy this to send, please DO NOT Send This To EVERYONE You Know and something wonderful or terrible will happen!! Nothing will happen any differently if you just take a look and then go on to something else than if you send it to any number of people).

That being said, you must be wondering what I'm talking about and whether you are going to need to scroll down. Yes, you will need to scroll down to see what I'm talking about...

You see a traffic cone here and if you click the picture I think you can see others beyond the car.  Nothing so unsual.

In fact, there are two traffic cones here. And the other cones in the back are much more visible.

Still nothing unusual?

These were the BIGGEST traffic cones I've every seen, or if you prefer the line from 'Get Smart' that is the second biggest cone I've ever seen!

Cloudy Days

Even if we don't get much rain it is still nice to see clouds in the sky.  The past few weeks have been great for clouds of all kinds.

These last three were taken on the same day.

Science Fair

Erik's school had a science fair yesterday.  Three judges went by each exhibit and talked with the students. Erik was pretty good explaining his mulch study.  He put fish, citrus, melon, and salad into cups with soil and tried growing beans in them as well as in one without mulch.  The neighbor cat ate about 3/4 of the fish soil, so we tried again and brought the cups indoors.  They started smelling and went back outside and the citrus and melon soils had mold, the new fish soil had maggots.  Wonderful.

Starting over, we were finally able to get some decent results. Unfortunately, there wasn't much time left to get decent data. At least decent enough to make a solid conclusion.  He did find the citrus soil to produce the most plant growth, with the fish soil a close second.  The salad soil had the largest leaves and probably looked the healthiest.  We may have to keep going on this just to see what happens...

Storm Clouds

Yesterday was supposed to have 90% chance of rain and this little storm cell at sunset was the closest we came to seeing rain and it moved north.  We got a few drops, but not much more.  Anyhow I liked how the clouds started swirling in anticipation of this cell. I had to take two pictures and stitch them together to get so much sky.

Special Visit

I don't know how far across the country the Weinermobile travels each year. I don't know if there are more than one of them. I DO know that this is the second time I've seen it, and in the same location...
First time it was parked at the trailhead for Echo Canyon. This time I was right behind it heading in.
But there was a long line just to wait for parking and this thing needs two spaces, so he turned it around. Pretty interesting vehicle to say the least.
