Is It Safe?

This little round-tailed groundsquirrel let me get fairly close, and each time I would move he would duck back into the hole. When he ventured out it was to hold this pose for quite some time. He probably figured no predator would notice if he remained motionless. The wind was blowing from behind him, so he may have had to be more cautious than usual.
