Prickly pear are pretty common around landscapes. The natives shown here (Engelmanns) are always yellow, but the variety of prickly pears have a pretty good range of color. There are pinks blooming now, some are deep red, some more orange. I don't think I've seen any in the bluish range, but I would guess the experts are working towards that.
