Phoenix has seen snow once or twice in about 40 years or so. The nearby mountains get a coating almost every year. The other day it was beautifully clear after a chilly wind blew all day and rains with snow in the low elevations came during the night. Even so, by late in the day the snow was already starting to disappear.
Looking north from the Phoenix Mountains Presserve at 40th Street there are some white tipped mountains in the distance.
