Around the House

Went out this morning to shoot a few flowers in the yard.  I tried not to shoot the many weeds in the yard!!

OK, this is a Firestick - not a flower, not a cactus, but pretty cool looking.  In the fall the ends are red & yellow and from a distance do look a bit like fire. Now the green is coming back with some new growth.

This was/is a weed, but the flower is so much nicer than dandilions.

Here's an orange version.  Some yards are full of these two flowers.

This is an agave stalk starting to flower.  Flowers may produce seed pods or individual plants may begin growing along the stalk to fall when the stalk blows over and hopefully root in the ground some distance from the original plant (which dies after sending up the stalk).

Alright, now its time to tackle those nasty weeds taking up much of the rest of the yard...
