Rockford Files

Clever title, eh? We flew into Rockford IL on Monday and visited the Discovery Science Center. The boys loved it. Lots to see and do, but I don't think Jake will recall much besides the water fun. Sorry about the sideways photos - trying to go from pc to mac and not lovin' it...Will fix this when I can. Anyhow Rockford is nice, but we didn't get to see some of the really good stuff like the world class botanical gardens or the natural history museum, but the weather is SO much nicer than the 110+ weather we left behind in Phoenix!

Speed Racers

Erik is finally tall enough to drive the go-carts. He didn't want to take Jakob this time, so Erik's friend, Drew, let him ride along.

Ice Cold Lemonade!!

Jakob felt the need to make some money today, and since the girls up the street were doing a car wash, he figured lemonade would be a good option. We got lucky with our mixture and made some really good lemonade. He sold a few cups and got a few tips before something else caught his interest.

5...4...3...2...1...Blastoff...oops!

This was the fourth flight. The first dropped one fin, the second was OK, the third dropped another fin and the fourth - well, the fourth was a disaster. Rockets don't do well with only one fin. We completely lost one of them so it will be off to Michael's for another (and more engines).
